The global area dedicated to greenhouse vegetable production is estimated at 496,800 hectares, playing a critical role in growing fruit, vegetables, plants, and trees. Here in the UK, where sunlight and heat are far from abundant, keeping greenhouses clean is essential for optimal productivity.
The same applies to managing greenhouse shading.
During the peak of summer, temperatures inside greenhouses can soar to 32°C, causing plants to shut down and struggle for survival. The ideal greenhouse temperature is closer to 25°C, which is where shading agents come into play.
Whilst BP Ag hasn’t yet ventured into the application of shading agents, we do offer shading removal services using our drones.
Our drone technology provides a faster, safer, and more efficient solution for cleaning greenhouse glass compared to traditional methods. Gone are the days of precariously balancing on guttering or walking along glasshouse roofs—practices that pose significant health and safety risks and are far from efficient.
The products used to clean glasshouses have now been proven to clean poly tunnels as well. This can boost the production of your poly tunnels and extend longevity of the polyethylene.
The drone operates approximately 2 meters above the glass, spraying shading agent remover with precision to ensure even coverage.
The spinning discs on the drone can be adjusted to control droplet size, allowing for unmatched accuracy in application. This method not only improves efficiency but also ensures optimal coverage for maintaining your greenhouse’s performance.
